There are many layers in appreciating Sei-Ki. For most of us, it takes much longer than a year to understand and perform Sei-Ki to a high level of competence, but people can, nevertheless, do good work from the beginning.
So why is The Sei-Ki Training only 1 year and not 2, 3, 4+ years?
The answer is that we do not know how long it will take you to be confident and be competent in Sei-Ki. It might take a year and it might take 10 or 20 years. No fixed-length training would ever be appropriate in this art. If Sei-Ki is your Path, you will have to navigate it according to your own, growing understanding. But good help along the way is crucial.
Over the years, we have noticed that people can make real progress if immersed in Sei-Ki over the course of a year. This is long enough to give you a boost in skill and understanding but not so long that it takes the spontaneity and uniqueness out of your experience. Sei-Ki is the Way of aliveness and any training must keep that centre front.
In the first year the number of participants for The Sei-Ki Training will be a maximum of 14 people. This will be your core group throughout the training year.
You will also spend time in smaller peer groups or for group supervision.
Most of the teaching events will be accessible exclusively to the Sei-Ki Training group. There will be a few events and occasions where other Sei-Ki students can join, such as during the Vienna workshop (for the first three days) and maybe some online classes.
Ideally, you will already have participated in a minimum of 6 days in Sei-Ki workshops when you apply (at least 3 of these days must be with Alice Whieldon; the other 3 days could be with Alexandra Gelny or Maria Kokori).
You can also apply for the Training before that, if you are sure to participate in further Sei-Ki workshops before the Training starts.
In this case, please let us know about the workshop(s) you have done and the ones you are planning to do. We will then discuss your individual Path with you in the application interview.
For participating in The Sei-Ki Training, it is important that you participate at all teaching and learning events.
This is particularly essential for all in-person workshops (Residential in September, workshop in February, Residential in June).
If not all dates for the online classes work for you, there is an option to occasionally watch a recording, but this should only be exceptions.
If you’d like to participate in The Sei-Ki Training and struggle with date conflicts, please get in touch with us to clarify, if your participation would still be possible.
The Sei-Ki Training Residentials are being designed to support you in your individual learning process as good as possible.
The September Residential will be the intense kick-off for your Sei-Ki Training Journey.
We will be a larger teaching team than at regular Sei-Ki Residentials:
Alice Whieldon as Director and Main Teacher, Alexandra Gelny and Maria Kokori as Supporting Teachers, plus assistants (for 2025/26 Bhadrena van Thienen and Clare Roberts).
This is to ensure that you will receive as much individual guidance and feedback as possible.
The programme’s fee of EUR 3,000.- includes
the participation fees for all in-person workshops (two Residentials of 4+ days each, one workshop of 5 days)
the participation fees for all online live classes (online modules, Book Club), as well as online group supervision (three sessions per participant)
access to the Online Library with helpful audio, video and written material
community and exchange with other participants
The course fee doesn’t include:
cost for lodging and food during workshops
travel costs
fees for any additional and optional 1:1 tutorials or 1:1 supervision sessions
The Sei-Ki Training’s main language will be English.
Your English doesn’t need to be perfect to participate in the Training, but ideally, you have a good understanding of English.
We are aware that the group will be multilingual and we can offer language support in the following languages:
German (Alexandra) | Greek (Maria) | Italian (Alexandra) | French (Alexandra)
This means that you can make comments or ask questions (in person, online or via email) in your native language. There might also be occasions (peer group meetings, small group supervision) which might be held in any of the above languages, if this is the preferred language of the small group coming together for these teaching events.
